Souled

I want to come back to this...inspired by 'Move On' by Fort Minor and The Divine Comedy by Dante. enjoy xx (oh, note that "blessed" is pronounced [bless-ed] not [blessd]) and forgive the awful pun in the title, i'll rethink it...

Souled

Thank you for greeting the sinned and blessed at the door,
Passing judgement and thieving and begging them for more.
Well we don't need your valid opinions valued here,
So if you'd kindly step aside and the devil shall appear.

Place you on a pedestal that's looming way up high,
So you can sneer and raise your chin at us peasants passing by.
And as your ego grows so do the spikes above your head,
Accept the blessed and forgive the others' sins,
And soon the growing pedestal will make the blessed dead.

Way way down, beneath the last circle of hell,
A place is reserved and I know that it will fit you well.
Don't preach to me your false ideals or parade around your gold,
My soul is still in tact but yours is going gone sold.

Another rather unrelated event has appeared today,
The devil's here to tell you that your pretty head can stay.
But you have to get off your pedestal now, your fate will soon be near,
So if you'd kindly join us down below and the devil shall appear.

Way way down, beneath the last circle of hell,
A place is reserved and I know that it will fit you well.
Don't preach to me your false ideals or parade around your gold,
My soul is still in tact but yours is going gone sold.
