On the Horizon (Copied from LPUMB)

All of the below is copied from my thread in the LPUMB Lounge.

Lot of inspirations for this. First I was thinking about doing something like We Are Broken by Paramore. Then I was thinking about how the weather had changed recently and there had been a storm. And then I thought about Funeral for a Friend's concept album: Tales Don't Tell Themselves. I was thinking about these things and some others like Cellar Door by Holly Brook and Taking Back Sunday songs and Hawthorns Heights and stuff...but it came out like this. And I like it. Tell me what you think... x

On the Horizon

Beginning with the cold,
It freezes minds, it freezes souls,
To keep me alive,
Promise me the sun will shine.

Keep your eyes, on the horizon,
I'll come back home,
We'll follow the sun,
You promise me the sun,
And keep your eyes, on the horizon.

And then the summer heat,
It pales the work, it pales the sea,
To keep me alive,
Promise me the sun is mine.

Keep your eyes, on the horizon,
I'll come back home,
We'll follow the sun,
You promise me the sun,
And keep your eyes, on the horizon.

Follow the heat with storms,
It clouds the sky, it clouds our forms,
To keep me alive,
Promise me the sun will shine.

Keep your eyes, on the horizon,
I'll come back home,
We'll follow the sun,
You promise me the sun,
And keep your eyes, on the horizon.

And the rain,
Reminds me of you,
And the timber frame,
That supports the crew,
And the water,
That runs,
The firing of the guns.
And rushing water,
Filling my lungs,
And eyes that cannot see the sun.

Keep your eyes, on the horizon,
I'll come back home,
We'll follow the sun,
You promise me the sun,
And keep your eyes, on the horizon.

Starting with, the sand and water,
The pounding, in my head and shoulders,
The ship that, lays across tens of miles,
In the middle of nowhere.
But the storm, the wind has settled down,
It's anger has abated, it's crime done,
And somewhere along the horizon,
I can see the sun.

Keep your eyes, on the horizon,
I'll come back home,
We'll follow the sun,
So promise me the sun,
And keep your eyes, on the horizon.
