An Art of Theft

Oh wow. When I started this I fully intended it to be about being in love (happily) and hope and emotions. I'm...not quite sure what happened...Oh well. Still stuff I'm feeling, that clashes with the hope ^_^ very simple. Can be done acoustic or as a harder rock song...or compromises of both. Little cheesy. Some inspirations include 'The Only Exception' by Paramore and 'Fire' + 'Into You' by Dead by Sunrise. I may or may not have stolen the title of Ben "Yahtzee" Crosshaw's 'Art of Theft' game, but I like it :D Enjoy xx

An Art of Theft

You stole my heart, an art of theft,
You can't take it back.
But you were gone before you left,
You already knew that.

(Approaching with fear)
(You were so...distant)

The sky was all tired,
And I was so blessed,
And that was the day, the day that you left.
Hearing your voice,
I wouldn't have guessed,
It would be the day, the day that you left.

You keep my heart, a gift at best,
I can't have it back.
But you weren't hurt; your heart not stressed,
You already knew that.

(Approaching with fear)
(You were so...distant)

The sky was all tired,
And I was so blessed,
And that was the day, the day that you left.
Hearing your voice,
I wouldn't have guessed,
It would be the day, the day that you left.

Did you believe in me,
Just to believe in you?
And did you just hurt me,
Just to relinquish you?
(My heart, my heart)
I wasn't done with you,
(My heart, my heart,)
(My heart, my heart,)
(My heart, my heart,)
(My heart, my heart,)
(My heart, my heart,)
(My heart, my heart...)
Well it wasn't done with you...

I'm hearing your voice,
It came back again,
And that was the day, the day that you left.
The day that you left.

The sky was all tired,
And I was so blessed,
And that was the day, the day that you left.
Hearing your voice,
I wouldn't have guessed,
It would be the day, the day that you left.
